AgroResin® is made of renewable agricultural fibre residues instead of petroleum.

It is a plant fibre composite, composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. As the source of these atoms are carbohydrates from agricultural residues in the vicinity of manufacturing, the composites are based on a contemporary carbon source, and not a fossil fuel carbon source. Raw materials of AgroResin® are replenished every few months or annually instead of 100 million years as in the case of fossil fuels.

Farming residues like rice straw, wheat straw, cotton linter, bamboo etc, are renewable and abundant in most parts of the world, making it an ideal raw material for AgroResin® as it has no adverse impact on the ecology or animal and human food supply.

AgroResin® reduces petroleum dependency, net greenhouse gas emissions and is a positive step towards more sustainable manufacturing.

Readily moldable by pulp molding machine

AgroResin® is readily moldable using wet-forming, thermal or radiation drying, press-curing and trimming tools designed for pulp, including virgin pulp and recycled pulp. An important property of AgroResin® compositions is that they drain faster and shrink greater than conventional molded pulp. The shrinkage factor, of materials made from rice straw residue, is about 3 times higher than recycled pulp under the same drying conditions. AgroResin® packaging is fibrous, stiff, permeable to air, water- and grease-resistant, heat/frozen proof and microwavable.
